Angela is a Paul Mitchell Graduate with many solid years behind her. From her education onward, she immersed herself in her obsession with color. According to Angela, it’s more than obsession, her craft is one of passion. “I read, tested, studied and played with color so much that Color Correction quickly came as second nature. Color layers and light can all be manipulated,” she said. “I’m resolute about my color line. It has to produce superior results and it has to last.” Angela tells us that it wasn’t long before she found her niche, fixing box color. “You simply cannot get the same results out of a box that a true colorist can.” Angela later added Brazilian Smoothing Systems as well as Japanese Hair Straightening to her repertoire. “I’ve added specialties as my client base has grown.”
Angela is equally skilled with both the traditional and the Avant-garde. “My everyday bread and butter comes from classic beauty styles, but I’m a junkie for non-traditional shapes as well – anything that disconnects, anything geometric. Think high-style Vidal Sassoon, architectural lines with a high-fashion edge… I love that stuff.” Since coming to GS Hair and working closely its owner, Greg Saumure, Angela has added many Vidal Sassoon techniques to her already impressive skill set.
Angela said she was drawn to hair because of the interpersonal relationships she forms by way of her art. “I sat at a desk for years,” she’ll tell you. “But I’m Italian! I like to work with my hands.” And for Angela, the personal nature of her art is never lost. “I like to touch people and I want to hear their stories.”
